Headers on. ‘72 455?

Try not to laugh but I’m curious if adding headers to my ‘72 455 (in a 98) would “work”, (make any performance gains) or just be a waste of money? I did just add dual exhaust last year and got a bit nicer sound. Would love a little more “throat” tone and if I get a few more horses …in an obviously detuned motor, that would be cool. Just don’t know if it’s a waste given the low compression and I don’t plan on doing any cam updates or the like.

Thanks

Your issue would be fit but yes, LONG TUBE headers typically pick up ~20hp and ~30ft lbs of torque.
