Fan belts

I went to 3 auto parts stores looking for new fan belts for my car. They all have the same cogged belts. Did these cars come with cogged belts? Not that I can remember, but im not positive. The old belts off the car were not cogged. They had GM and Dayco part numbers on them, which crossed to COGGED belts. If this is correct ill buy them, but im thinking its not. Do the vendors sell cogged belts also? Who has correct belts for my car- 67 442?

Thanks

Steve

The newer belts will work but obviously are not optically correct. If you want correct-appearing belts, you'll need to order them from a specialty shop. If you just care about function, the cogged ones work fine.

You can also go to a bearing and belt supplier in your area. Take your old belts and they can match you up a set.
