Engine swap question

I have a '62 Olds Cotner Bevington that has a very weak 394 motor. The machine shop said that because the parts are impossable to find, I am looking around the $3,500.00 range for a complete rebuild. OUCH!! The question is, I have a '85 Cadillac motor and tranny that run fine, what work would have to be done to get this thing in the car? Also, what do I need to do to transform this car from a generator to a altenator?
Thanks,
Mike

My son rebuilt the 394 in his '64 98. If you are interested I will get the info on the source he used for parts. To change to an alternator, all you have to do is replace the generator with a one wire alternator. Actually finding one to physically fit would be the most trouble probably. BTW, what do you mean by the 394 being weak? Those were the biggest, baddest V8s Olds built before the next generation 425s and 400s came out.
