I don't have A/C, hard to say if they'll clear. They're roughly 1 1/4" taller than stock, correction M/T covers.

Hey Bos, I am currently in the process of clearancing my A/C box for tall valve covers. I already laid the fiberglass and bondo'd it today. I will start sanding tomorrow. I'll take a few pics, if nothing else, you could do the same to yours for 2 days work and a little glass.

Thanks,are you using the same valve covers?I'd seen those in the past ,but i think they were a lot more expensive then,I dont have A/C anymore but i still have the air box to retain the heater for now.Havent switched to the A/C delete box or cover yet.Probably fabricate somthing there .So doing what you are will work for me.[hope "santas"whatching!]Later,BO

Dan the motor looks great and sounds awesome. I may have to take a ride down your way so we can have a few espressos and take that beast for a ride. My project is going at a wonderful snail's pace.

Well there's a little issue with those nice tall GMPP covers. If you use the rocket emblem area for your breather hole, there is a rocker directly below. I had installed my baffled grommet's from Moroso which are 1 1/2" long and had oil spray out the breathers. I installed my PCV valve and if I use that setup i'll just end up sucking oil out. Need to find a different baffled grommet.

You got to be careful what you use because the rocker arm is directly below. I guess it's best not to use the emblem area. The "O" in Oldsmobile maybe.
I"m going to try the plain grommet which is shorter since the covers sit higher, it might be enough so as not to pass oil. I'm going to get a breather with built in PCV.

You need to build a baffle for the PCV set up. I use a piece of aluminum and a self tap screws with lock tight and some silicone over the screws.

I'll try to make something. Today I had a breather blow out, what a mess that made under the hood. It wasn't in all the way.

Finally got some braided line to replace the rubber hose. Also replaced the transmission lines with braided line. Engine still running strong. Oil pressure stays above 30 psi and temp stays below 195 sitting in traffic, 165 cruising around.

I had to use a different crank and I had that turned. Resized the rod that spun the bearing and had three wrist pins fixed, the pistons didn't move freely. I'm using a different set of rockers and that's about it. Can't say I really did anything different in the rebuild, I did install the rear main seal the correct way the second time.

Better yet if you want my cell is 301-481-4940. Feel free to call (EST), I have a hard time typing besides trying to put thoughts down. I'm no expert but I could explain what I did.
