Edelbrock Carb and Intake

I am getting ready to install an edelbrock performer intake and carb on a 68 400 engine. Are there any brackets or any other pieces that Im going to need to get this job done. I dont wanna have to call summit in the middle of the job because I wasnt prepared. Thanks!

I don't know about that exact application but bolt ons don't always just bolt on!
Does the carb have hardware for the throttle cable to fit on?
will the air cleaner fit? ( I don't think an original air cleaner will fit the carb without a spacer between). Are there aditional vaccum ports that need to be plugged?

You will most likely need a bracket for the throttle cable. I bought a NOS bracket at a Chevy dealer but that was 10 years ago. if you need to replace the throttle cable but not the sheath go to a bike shop and buy a brake cable or gear shift cable. If the performer that you buy has an EGR port (it may even though your 68 has no EGR to make it more "universal") the AFB won't work. The EGR port will interfere with the throttle linkage, that's the only big one to watch out for, otherwise if you can improvise a bit it is a fairly easy job, painless if you have a good speed shop in the area that stocks little odds and ends. Not all Eddlebrock air cleaners will work with an AFB if it uses an electric choke.

the intake is probably a spread bore carb mounting flange.
Is the carb your going to use a spread bore like the stock Q-jet
or is it the square bore like most of the E-brocks?

you may want to get the thin plate adapter to mount the square bore
to the E-brock Q-jet style intake.
you can do it with out, but more chance of vacuum leak.
