DMR 5058 exhaust gaskets

Any views on the Dick Miller exhaust gaskets the tangs of which are bent inwards and effectively lift the exhaust port floor ?? Has anyone here used them ??

My engine builder used them on a mudpacker motor a few years ago. All he said was don't waste my time or money.
