Denver / Ft. Collins area decking?

I am looking for someone in the Denver area to deck the block of my "new" '73 S big block. I am shooting for ~9.5 when complete, with replacement pistons tbd. Any recommendations or experience would be appreciated. This game is new to me and I don't want to screw up this beauty. Thx.

Thumbs up Decking Block

I have used Steve Mills Racing in CO Springs. He does Excellent Work and will not give you bad advice. He did my 68 olds 350. 11/1 compression hydralic cam and #6 heads. Runs Real Strong!! Google him.

If you are going to rebuild the entire engine. balance the rotating assembly.

If you're trying to keep low compression make sure they take off only what is required to clean it up. Also, make sure they use a torque plate when they bore it to minimize the stress on the block. If you're not racing this engine then don't worry about balancing...you won't pull enough RPM's to get your money's worth.

But, one thing you should do is put oil restrictors in the 2,3,&4 mains to limit the amount of oil sent up to the cam and lifters. You can get them from Mondello. They also sell oil restricting pushrods that limit the oil sent up to the rockers. Doing this will save you a ton of headache and prevent you from freaking out when the oil pressure guage reads 5psi. What you plan on doing with this motor will definitely impact what you spend building it.
