Decode 455 stamping

Hi guys. Was wondering if anyone would be familiar with 455 engine codes stamped. I don’t have any history on a 455 but it looks like it was rebuilt.

stamped in the side of the heads, I see these numbers:
07360 4786 Or 07300 4780
larger numbers below:

6250

Likely means something to the machine shop that did the work. But not having any history I was hoping someone might be able to help provide insights on what it might indicate. Thanks!

The 1968-later motors (which means every 455 built) did not use stamps on the ends of the heads like that. The earlier motors that DID have the engine unit number stamp on the front of the passenger side head used a code unlike this. These were just ID stamps from whatever machine shop did the valve job. The only way to know that they mean is to ask that shop.

Thanks Joe! I was afraid that was going to be the case. Not knowing what machine shop did the work, I will not be able to find out.

i was thinking that the 6250 was the RPM redline that maybe the machine shop stamped. Purely a guess on my part. None of the other numbers makes any sense to me.

6250 is more likely a ticket or shop traveler number. Are both heads stamped or just one?

Both heads are stamped. But I have to check if exactly the same. I think so.
