Question copper coat brush on to steel shim H.G.

I got some copper coat brush on fluid................ it should work on my steel shim head gaskets assuming the head and block is clean?
Assuming I don't use too much
What do you say?

I know it was used on steel head gaskets back in the days. One of the only sealants I remember seeing used on these. Maybe High -tack?

I also have non hardening G.M. head gasket shellac that I bought in the mid seventies. It still never hardened and worked fine on the BSA and Norton Commando I had

I dont know about brush on but i used spray on with my mr. gasket ultra seal head gaskets.
