Connecting Rod Bearing Size

Connecting Rod Bearing Size

I have an Olds 1976 455 7.5L engine that im building, i need to get new conneting rod bearings and can't find what the standard size is, the size of my journals are 2.4920-2.4930 in, is that standard or undersize and if so how much under?

How are you measuring it ?? If your measurement is correct it is a VERY worn out standard.
Standard sizes are Mains 2.9990-3.0000 Rods 2.4999-2.5000
2.490 would be .010 undersize

You really need to use a micrometer to measure, not a pair of calipers.

I think you have the rods and mains swapped, Bill.
