Chicago Olds Engine/Machinist

Hi,

I live in the Chicago area and I am looking for a engine rebuilder that specializes in Olds engines in the area. I am restoring a 72 442 which has a stock 455 and I am looking to rebuild it to W30 specs with bigger valves, bump the 8.5 compression up and knows all the tricks to properly build a 455.

Thanks,

Contact Jeremy on this site. His name is J-(Chicago) and the easiest way to reach him would be with a Private Message. John

It would help to know what part of the area you are in.

www.rocketracingperformance.com These guys are within 2 hours of you, depending on the time of day you try to move. They also seem to have an excellent reputation. I haven't talked to them personally yet as I got hit hard by the tanking economy early in the game but will be going there as soon as I get some schtick fixed.

or there is Jim Lapikas of J&S. He's about 3 hours south.

There are some local guys that while they aren't in the business of engine building, they do build engines. And very good ones at that.

Moellers Machine of Crete has built my Olds 455s. They do everything but they know there stuff. Reasonable $ too. If interested pm me and I'll give you their #. Theres no sign on the building cuz they operate by word of mouth. Rocket Racing Specializes in Olds motors though. I get all my engine parts from them.
