Just got my new pan installed and I was wondering if there was a way I could check it for leaks. Just wanna be sure it sealed up before I put it back in the car. It's a lot of work to have to take it back out if it leaks.

 

Im gonna assume you're talking about the oil pan. Pretty much all you can do on these is take your time and hope to god you got it right on the first try. Really no checks you can conduct without having the motor running in the car (unless you have a test stand)
be ABSOLUTELY sure you sealed up those end seals well on the pan gasket. I didn't, wasted 3 days worth of work the first time I did it (had never pulled an engine before and work full time), damn thing still leaks at the end seals.

 

I put rvt on the ends of the seals and a thin coating around the motor and pan in hoping that that if there was a hole it would fill them in.

 

That is how I would have done it. The reason mine leaked is because I installed rear seal incorrectly to where the gasket was sitting on top of the rubber seal.

I would let the rtv cure for a few hours before you fire up the engine.
