Bolts or studs?

Not sure if I should use ARP bolts or studs to install the cylinder heads? I do know I don't want to remove the brake booster if I have to remove a cylinder head.

Can the bolts/studs be used for either aluminum or factory heads or are they for each specific application?

This engine will produce 450-475hp..

Thanks....

If you don't want to remove the brake booster then you've answered your own question. Go with bolts. Hopefully you won't have to ever remove the head but with studs in it the booster has to come out if you plan on leaving the studs in to do it.

That's what I was thinking Trip! I just don't want to build this thing and regret not using studs but I think I'll be ok with the bolts. As far as clamping force the bolts should do the job, right?

If compression is under 11 to 1 I don't see any need for ARP stuff. I have never had a problem re-using stock bolts.

What Run to Rund said. Factory stuff held 10.5:1 with ease

I have used ARP over a number of years just to make sure........no regrets. Have used more studs than bolts.

I have a question as it relates to studs vs. bolts. I have seen this topic come up a lot over the years.... what are the advantages of using studs vs. bolts?
