Best Exhaust Manifold Paint/Coating?

Hi Guys,

Ok....what's the best paint or coating for exhaust manifolds? I'm interested more in durability than in appearance, but a nice cast iron or similar color is desired. Who's had experience with what?

thanks,
bob

I had my W and Z manifolds ceramic coated by HPC about 5 years ago.

With engine dyno time, and street miles, they still look new.

PS - there is no good manifold paint

Hi My442,

Do you have any contact info or a website for HPC? All I could find online was an HPC coatings in Australia.

thanks,
bob

I used POR15 Manifold Grey on mine.
Here is before running the engine:

And here is 200 miles after...

Time will tell how long it will last...

I have used eastwoods manifold grey and it seems to holds up ok. I am have the exhaust manifolds ceramic coated cast and the intake bright silver on the Vista I am doing now by hotshots powdercoating in hamburg ny. I wanted someone local to do them. This is the first time using them and will post on the quality when I get them back.

I just used high heat cast blast spray paint and my exhaust manifolds still look great nearly 5 years later. I only put about 300 miles/year on the car.

Hi Guys,
I'm glad to hear that ceramic coating seams the best way to go. Had my manifolds ceramic coated, engine rebuild is done, and we're off to the Dyno this morning. I just hope it goes well.................
