Bare Block Differences

Are there any differences between a 70 and a 73 455 bare block?

The VIN stamp is about it
possibly the lack of Manual Trans Z-bar mount on some later blocks.
It's a round machined face on LH side, aft end of course, near trans face.

Near the Starter Brace upper bolt boss. Back more.

That only applies to the FA blocks. All F blocks (like the one the OP has) are machined for the pivot ball.

Not sure the 73 would qualify but the later blocks have the front and rear drainbacks scalloped way back from the factory. No holes, totally cut away.

Mark,

Does that apply to the FA blocks, or are later F blocks that way also? The OP has an F block.
