.921 lifters

If I were to have the surface of my hyd lifters refaced what radius would I be looking at ??
Would it depend at all upon cam lobes??

Thanks mike

Nobody is going to want to touch this question, cause that is when the flaming will begin. You have to use new lifters on a cam swap, what kind of garbage are you putting together, etc., etc.

What I will say is that when I was broke, and had to get my car going again, I took a used scotchbrite disk to the bottoms of a used set of lifters (just to remove the mating pattern), then ran the lifter in a figure 8 pattern on some emery cloth. Great pattern, and the cam was fine for another 40k before I sold the car (the valve springs had 95# on the seat, and like 240# open).
The next owner built a 455, and upon removal of the old cam and very old lifters found NO wear.
The cam mated just fine with those units.
That was almost 25 years ago.

I do not recommend doing that for your engine!
Nowadays, with all of the oil issues, I say get new lifters.
If you can afford to do the rest, get the lifters.

JMO,
Jim

Back when there was the lifter shortage I had my .921 solids refaced. They worked good.

thanks guys. Not so short o money as 'just another thing I have to import" .I can tell you there are none here .I have seen a set of .842 and their brand was 'republic '.That name didn`t ring a bell .wrong size so wasn`t tempted .
Just means I will get a new set sent over at some point .Resurface existing and keep em for spares
cheers for that
