74 omega olds v8 bracket

74 omega olds v8 bracket

putting a olds v8 in a omega that had one before past owner discarded olds engine and put a sbc in .i am restoring the car back to olds power 455 and i had a set of 60,s brackets from a cutlass 2 of the holes catch but not sure if these put the engine were it has to go .does any one have a set or i can welt the corner that misses the 3rd hole i have pics if someone wants to see . not sure how to add pic ?? thanks steve

The easiest way to add pictures is to add them as attachments. In the Reply to Thread view, scroll down to the Additional Options box and click the Manage Attachments button. Pay attention to file size.

I doubt the A-body brackets will work on an X-body without welding or other customization.

i just tried to drop a bare block on the mounts and a body brackets it was totally off i need a pair of 73-74 omega brackets .i dont know if 75-78 omega brackets are the same i know the sub fram is different .??

I don't know for sure if the 75-79 frame brackets are different or not, but I've seen some that used the same frame brackets as the 77-90 B/C body cars, which only use two bolts to attach to the crossmember.

Also, be aware that the 73-74 Omegas require the rubber motor mounts to be bolted to the front two motor mount bolt holes on the block, not the rear two.
