70 442, 455- 4sp T.C.S. vacuum circuit help?
Hey All,
Ive got a 70 442, 4spd convertible car that Im just about done restoring.
When I bought the car 3 years ago, the T.C.S. solenoid was missing. I plan on doing the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour this June and wanted to have the T.C.S. components installed and working to get a tick better fuel economy. It's a 3,000 mile round trip, so every little bit will help!
The TCS solenoid has 3 vacuum ports on it. 1 is next to the double spade plug, and the other 2 are in a "L" shape on the opposite side of the plug.
Where do these plug into vacuum? To the carb? To raw intake vacuum? Im sure that one port goes to the vacuum pod on the distributor, just not sure which one.
Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Lumpy

I don't know about a 70....
but on a 72,
bottom port goes to manifold vacuum
the one above that goes to the advance,
and the one above that plugs into the back of the carb next to the hot air choke tube.
There is also one on the very top of the unit next to the electrical connectors that runs to the front of the carb.
