For those in the know: What are the differences between the dual snorkel air cleaners for '68 and '69 with OAI? Of course the obvious cover of painted steel VS chrome are different. But how about the body of the cleaner(s) themselves? They have different part numbers, 6424958 for 1968, and 6485003 for 1969. How are the two different?

 

The PVC valve hooks up on different side, can't remember which is which, I think 68 Driver 69 passenger.

Well, technically, it's the breather tube that connects to the air cleaner. The 68 has the breather tube going to the driver's side, the 69 to the passenger side.
