66' Toronado choke adjustment

Good evening all,

I'm having a bit of trouble getting the fast idle cam set just right on my 1966 Toronado Quadrajet. It's kinda hard to explain so I've made a quick Youtube video explaining where the issue is. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear em!

I do have the CSM and had a look at the adjustments for the carb but I'm not quite seeing what I'm looking for. It is possible that I'm just missing it.

Here's the video link:

Maybe mark where it's hitting, then file the orange fast idle cam notch back so it clears.

I worked on many of these carbs back in the 1980s. I am not 100% sure, because it's been so long, but I believe that's normal. Once you start it, the choke pull off will pull it down a step.

That's interesting. I'll have to watch for that the next time I do a cold start.

Of course you will have to gently tap the gas pedal after it starts for it to drop off that part of the fast idle cam.
