65 425 Oil sender unit NPT size

Hey All, I'm going to plumb a mechanical oil gauge into my engine, my question is does anyone know the NPT thread size of the sender unit where it goes into the block? Thanks!

My gut says ¼", but I am not completely certain.

Your gut needs calibration. The oil port on every 1964-1990 Olds V8 block is 1/8 NPT.

I've always had trouble visually estimating NPT sizes - the actual diameter of the nipple is about double the nominal size.

Huh
real numbers
No wonder JP knows all... he has all the inside info!

I always just called 'em
The little one (1/8)
the big one (1/4)
little finger size (3/8)
finger size (1/2) and
thumb size (3/4)

turns out there is also a 1/16 pipe thread- I have some large qty of plugs for that- and they make straight [not tapered] pipe thread think 1/8" for lamp parts). I have 1000 nuts for that thread if you know anyone that makes lamps out of car parts or whatever. pay the shipping and it's yours.

If you're really clever, you'll scale that on your printer to full size and tape it up in the garage.
