I just built a 468 for my delta 88 and to my discourage the new motor is doing the same thing that the old one did, block cleaned decked heads also new t-stat (boiled and check) ned rad 4 core flowing fine. Talked with a guy who has 3 olds' with 455 two had bad overheating problems just like mine and yours. He put a 160 t-stat in his 68 cutlass and it works fine, put it in his 69 and still overheated! he then said he put a new clutch on the fan and a 180 t-stat and now can run all day. I checked his clearance with the fan and shroud and could barely get my finger between the two. I just picked up a new clutch need to find a bigger fan and try that i hope that this can help you also, because we are in the same boat when it comes to want to drive.

still overheats

Still overheats LOL!

New Radiator New Water Pump New hoses with spring in the lower hose New thermostat and a few gallons of EVANS COOLANT and drive all day in NEW YORK traffic with no overheating/boilover.

Just as simple as that!
