To do virtually all the single planes I'm not sure this has enough cam in it Brian, it certainly doesn't have enough cylinder head, not sure how much it would really tell.
I guess I've opened a can of worms here but good feedback thanks. I'm going to do both Performers for sure, then we'll see how much time we have from there. J if you want to send me your Torker pm me and I'll give you my address. I have an HSD in perfect condition already but we'll see what happens, I'll need extra t-stat housings etc to speed up the switching, I think I have them. I'll give it my best shot guys.

Understandable.Maybe just do a dual-plane shootout,O4B,Performer,Air-gap Performer,Pro Products?

Brian considering the combo, that's not a bad idea for this build. Maybe that's what I'll do and do my HSD if time permits or J's Torker. That would at least show a potential difference among the dual planes and at least 1 single plane, hmmmmm.

Firefrost- I'm now interested in your O4B, but you gotta pay for the ride o.k.? Is it in good shape? J, the same for you, O.K.? I'll discuss this with my dyno operator as well.

Thanks.

Just get some velcro gaskets,so you can rip everything on and off.
What carb did you decide on?Hopefully something that can be used on ALL of the intakes,to keep the playing field level. Some of the O4B intakes have the 4150 opening, and others have the Q-jet.
The numbers will vary, but the importance is where they vary, and if/how it will effect the performance of the car that the engine is actually going into.

I need 2. The dyno has it's own thermostat so I don't need 3 or 4 engine thermostats. It'll be set at 180.

Right now the dyno session won't happen before the week of the 19th, but I'll keep everyone posted.

Brian, we're going to use sealer on one side of the intake gaskets, the other side gets sprayed with PAM.

Sorry guys my o4b is out of the testing I was getting it ready for mark by using some old plugs to fill the bungs for the holes in the water crossovers and vacuum ports and I cracked the choke block off plate mounting pad in the front. Not happy.

What's a FFG? I tried to post a photo of it but it would hang in my attach file box
But not seem to get it to go up to the post box.

I think J is willing to send one. I will co-ordinate but of I get an O4B that will have priority.

Yes can you send the one with the divider cut down, that would be great.

Also J-Chicago, I'm not sure I'll have time for your Torker but I definately need the t-stat housings. If you want to send the intake that's your call. Remember I already have a Holley SD.

PM me an address and I'll send out the tstat housings.

I'm not sure dropping the shipping $ for the torker is a safe bet if you won't get to it in time. It's here if plans change in your favor though.

Had some delays, should go in the next 10 days or so. Still trying to get someone to pony up on a torker.
Anybody? I know I'll hear about it if I don't keep asking.

I thought J-chicago has one to send you? In his last post he was questioning whether or not to send it in case you didn't get to it.

What do you think this is true??? The Edel. OL4B is ....................
The OL4B is a great intake. Its way nicer than the performer but im not sure how it compares with the RPM. Its a mid rise dual plane with huge runners and no EGR or choke provisions. I bought one for my 403 and it absolutely blows the performer away in every aspect. The performer is basically a stock aluminum copy intake.

Try a Victor intake, it will beat all the others mentioned from 2000-6500 rpm.

If you can find a Holley Street Dominator, it will be a close second to the Vic.

The modern Performer or Performer RPM has a little more technology behind it,compared to the O4B or OL4B,but they are a good intake to swap your iron one for.
Yes,the Victors will make power.I just don't know at what point the engine is just not enough for that intake.I've always ran Torkers,Port-O-Sonics,or the Street Dominator in the mild builds, and gone up from there.
The Offy 360 has got to be the worst Olds intake I have ever seen, but I am open-minded.I would like to see a comparision done with that.

Did you even bother to read the specs on the motor? Apparantly not. This thing will hardly ever see 5500, much less 6500. It's not the right combination for the Victor, not enough cam, carb, and cylinder head.

We got delayed, I was planning on hitting the dyno this friday. However work got in the way. Shooting for next week.
I have a Performer, a New RPM Air Gap, that I will be selling afterwards if the owner of the motor doesn't want it, an O4B from Johann and I have a perfect Holley Street Dominator if time permits as well. All the dual planes have had the center divider cut down the same amount. Plus I have different spacers as well, again time permitting.
And I can't believe the Holley would be that much different than a Torker.

I'll keep you posted.

There are some differences, both have their strength and weaknesses.

The Torker has flow stalling doglegs on the 4 inner runners and the Holley has a small plenum. It would be cool to see those two intakes in stock form in a side by side comparison.

Those 3 single planes,the Torker,Port-O-Sonic,and Street Dominator,are all similar,but different.Each one has a good & bad.They ALL need work.

It's the outer runners and both the Holley and Torker have relatively small plenums. I've compared them side by side.

if its the $$ that is holding up getting a torker sent there and back, I will put $20. to
anyone that will next day it to him. And i would think enough others that have an interest
in seeing this done will pony up also. what do ya say guys?
either way looking forward to this dyno session.

I am just waiting for the go ahead. I will send mine, but again want to make sure it will be utilized.

I had a Torker all boxed up for this weeks ago.
I was informed from Mark that he probably wouldn't have time for it though,
so I didn't waste the shipping money on something big that might not even get used.
I sent out the thermostat housings and that's the last I visited this thread. Sorry guys.

I see defiant1 has an intake waiting as well, and Red is throwing in $20 for strippers, er....shipping.

Someone please let me know what the heck is going on here.
