455 carb choice

I have a 455 in a 69 f85. It is a f block with e heads. Believe motor is out of a olds 88. Currently has a 2 barrel on it and has full length headers. Plans this winter are to put new rod and main bearings in, xe274 comp cams cam, either a torker intake or a Mondello 4150 posiflow intake, and a 2800 stall. I was looking at the 750 street demon carb but was told a 850 holly double pumper would work better. Which of the two should I get? Or is there a better option? Car will see its days at the strip.

Imho, all you really need is a 750cfm vac secondary, anything more than that is overkill.

I would not put an 850 DP out of the box on that engine its too much... unless you can really tune it and have an assortment of jets, power valves etc to play around with

Aed 750 ho

Put an AED 750 HO on it & you will love it. Great carbs. I have the 750HO & 850HO AED carbs on three of my vehicles.

The compression I believe is 9.1 or 9.5 , gears it has 3.08 stock o type axle, th350 trans. I would like to get a real 12 bolt and a th400 trans but I'm on a tight budget this year. A little of subject but is there at least a spoil for this rear end? And how would a 750 dp run with this?

Let me get back to you on that... I need to see if the other guy really wants it. He is a good friend and I don't want to dup him. Plus he's putting it on a BBC. I will be selling a Edelbrock intake too.... It's been mounted but never fired.. I cant use the carb or intake with a factory ram air set up.
