455 bellhousing

Hello friends. I need to know the equivalence of the bellhausing for a 455. Can a bellhousing from another big block be used for a manual transmission?
thank you

All bell housings with the Olds bolt pattern will cross reference to any modern Olds engine, small block 260, 330, 350, 403, and big block 400, 425, and 455. There are exceptions for other than A bodies.

Be sure you get one setup for your vintage of car. I have one that is the correct bolt pattern from bellhousing to engine, but the clutch fork location is different. I believe it had a cable rather than rod linkage. If you get one from Mike he will know the right one for your car.

Any BOP bellhousing bolts to the Olds motor. Be aware that some of the later ones are configured for the cable-style clutch linkage used in the H-body cars and won't be suitable for use in an A-body. The most common casting numbers that work are 9785581 and 547975.
