425 wont start

hi ,well i put some gas in and primed it ,it is getting gas to the carb, and is getting fire ,took a few different wires off put spark plug in them , turned over ,and getting spark, you know how you can tell when a engine is trying to start , well it isn,t doing that ,it sounds like it might be trying to fire on one cylinder not popping or back firing ,the engine was rebuilt , carb rebuilt ,all is new ,it is in a 65 starfire, have been working on my baby for three years now ,but this is my favorate car ,so hope someone can help me, thanks to all. will.

do you have a choke if not you will have to pump the snot out of it small fast shots . check plugs you might have knocked a few out if you poured raw gas in .

When holding key to start, ignition is getting 12 volts. When you let go of key, it drops back in voltage via the resistor wire. It sound like you have problems in the resistor wire circuit and losing voltage altogether.
