66 Toronado High 10.5 compression, "cast"

I knew piston selection would be limited when I cast off the ropes on this glorious journey, but this is what I've found so far:

Mondello (assuming cast?): $600

Kanter: $426

Egge: $450

1.) I assume all are same 'spec' for comparison purposes, but are there any good or bad experiences with either? (no intention to flame here and if horror story, feel free to PM me. Not trying to get a rant on anyone started)

2.) Any other vendors out there that would have the 'right' piston available?

I'm not spraying and the target is an 'excellent running, streetable 442, 4 speed', so I don't think I need the extra benefit (and great cost) of forged or custom made.

Flye, I have the same motor sitting on a stand, waiting for rebuild. It will end up in my '65 Vista. Being these are 385hp stock from factory, shouldn't take much to get to 410 or so. I will be watching this closely. Feel free to post what you end up doing and going with.....thanks!

I would buy forged pistons, even if that means getting semi custom ones from CP, Arias, etc. or getting 455 pistons and cutting about .1 to .12" off the tops in a lathe. That would put the rings closer to the fire, but I'd still rather have forged. Or, deck the block and use 400 Chevy pistons with snap rings, and bush the rods for .927" pins. Balance the engine of course.

I bought pistons from Mondello and I had to return them as they had the wrong pin height. I have used pistons from egge without any issues.

I am building the same motor, how did you make out with finding pistons? What did you buy?

Dick Miller supposedly has forged Diamond high compression 425 pistons on the shelf.

I bought Egge pistons on the advice of my engine builder.
He feels that forged pistons are overkill for a street motor that is not raced.
Egge's customer service was great, super communication and fast shipping!

That's where I am getting the pistons, how did you ever make out with the cam? sounds like we are building the same motor.
