Hello All,
I am concerned about my 394 smoking when I start it after sitting for a few weeks. When I start it up, there is smoke coming from the tailpipe on the drivers side only. It smells strong like antifreeze and only smokes for about two minutes after starting.
Does anyone know how i can get antifreeze in the exhaust on only one side? It sounds like an internal leak somewhere (maybe a gasket)
Any help would be appreciated.

 

Yes a faulty head gasket or crack in the head on that side. If the smoke is white then it is mostly water vapor from the lead. If it is blueish then it may be worn valve guides on that side. Either way, you may be looking at some work on the heads, do one, do them both.
