Hi and thanks in advance. My 58 Oldsmobile's exhaust manifold gasket is leaking a little on the left bank and want to change it but afraid of breaking the bolts off. Any advise how to do this and less chance of a nightmare. Oh this motor was rebuilt about 20 years ago. 58 supper 88 convt.

 

No magic here,always a risky procedure. I believe the two center studs/ bolts go into the water jacket to make things even more interesting .I usually soak them up with my penetrating solvent of choice for three or four days before attempting removal. Sometimes they come out OK sometimes they are a bitch...... best of luck... Tedd
