2011 Edelbrock Catalog "New" Olds intake
OK, Edelbrock emailed me (and probably everyone thats ever been to their website) an anouncement of the availability of their 2011 Catalog. Right there on page 103 is the "RPM Air Gap Olds 455", part #7551.
I know this has been a topic before on all the Olds related sites, but is this manifold REALLY available now? Has anybody actually ordered one?

Yes this dose appear to be in there catalog but not on there website -.-
The problem with the Old RPM style was that it was to high for the Big Blocks so they were never produced, but as you all can see this is a much different design! Note also that there is not an exhaust crossover pipe!
So whats the price? There is no retail store selling these, and there not on there own website, and for some reason there is no prices in there catolog

To get the mixture to hit the back of the valve,in an Olds head, you have to get the runner raised, which results in a higher-rise intake.Plain & simple.Look at the Victor. It is that tall for a reason. The obvious problem is that most people can't fit taller intakes under there existing hoods, which would lead to lack of interest & sales,so there has to be a compromise, yet make it worth doing.

I spoke with Rick Roberts lead engineer for Edelbrock at the PRI in Dec.
Problem was the plenum wasn't lined up right in the mold plus they were looking at changing the design of the runner entry from the plenum as well.
He didn't say anything about the height, it's shorter than the Victor so that's a plus on many applications.
