1969 Olds 442 knock

Any expert thoughts? Haven’t really done any troubleshooting on this one yet. Sounds like it’s a passenger side cylinder/ valve.

Exhaust leak?

You can cut our oil filter and see if there is any glitter.

Sounds like an exhaust leak from where I'm sitting, any updates?

So, I pulled valve covers to inspect, cranked the engine and everything was moving as expected. Started the engine and no more knock. I’ve been driving it for the last week and it hasn’t come back. Dunno, but it’s fine now!

Did you see a loose baffle in the valve cover or witnesses marks from valve train contact. A tick like that doesn't self heal. Unless a lifter collapsed then pumped back up...which is possible.
