1968 455 factory hp?

Hi,

I have a 68 455, with C heads from a 98, was this a 365, 370, 390 hp, and how do you tell?

Also looking online I see a bunch of different engine codes, w33, w34 etc, where do you find this info?

Regards,

I don't believe there was an OPTIONAL 455 for the 98:

the STANDARD 98 engine for '68 was 455 4bbl 365hp (L31)

the STANDARD Toronado engine was 455 4bbl 375hp, OPTIONAL 455 4bbl "forced air" 400hp (W34)

the STANDARD H/O engine was 455 4bbl "forced air" 390hp (W45/W46)

the Delmont 88/Delta 88 Police Apprehender had an OPTIONAL 455 4bbl 390hp (L32)
