1965 BBO passenger side Alt Bracket?

Hi,

Was looking for a pictures of a passenger side alternator brackets, I have a set from a 65 330, but it's an early car and don't see how the upper will bolt on a BBO I am considering replacing with.

Thanks in advance, regards,

The 1964 330 upper alternator bracket needs to be modified to bolt on to a BBO. It’s too short for the mounting hole to line up with the block. I fixed this by welding an ear with a 3/8” hole in it from another alternator bracket to add length

I've got a set if you need it. Been blasted and painted with Rustoleum semi gloss black.

According to this thread, you should be alright...

OK, here's the scoop:

1964 SBO brackets are one-year only and will only fit an SBO (because the BBO didn't exist in 1964).

1965-67 brackets fit both SBO and BBO, but are unique to the 64-67 cars

1968-(about) 1977 brackets fit both SBO and BBO

1977-up brackets are SBO-only (since BBO production stopped after 1976). These brackets can be pretty easily modified to fit the BBO, however.

Note that the F-body SBO brackets are unique to the F-body cars.

Hi,

Thanks for the breakdown, but still curious why most re-pop suppliers and others say 66 up.

What does a 65 BBO bracket look like is there a difference?

I looked on 442bro and didn't see any mention of a 65 brackets any different

The 66-up brackets will work on a 65, but they won't be optically correct.
