10:1 pistons
Hey guys my engine 455 is still at the machine shop it getting bored .030 decked, and 10:1 pistons!!
I have a comp cam purchased thinking I could use my stock pistons, but they were no good
So the part number of my cam is EX262h will this be ok I will be running with the bump in compression using stock G Heads, performer intake

Well Like I said I was banking on using my stock pistons......I did a lot of online research and also spoke with 2 of comps techs and that what they recomended at the time!!!
Now that the pistons have changed and decking the block and heads it will bump up the compression a little more than 10;1......at least thats what the engine shop told me!!
So will the car run ok with cam or will it cause me problems??.....Im keeping my stock heads and valve setup

If you have the Speed Pros then the only way you'll have even just 10.0:1 is if it's 0 decked, the heads are milled to 78cc and you use a 9cc head gasket. Otherwise you have 9.5-9.75:1. That piston is shorter than most of the other aftermarket 455 pistons. That means your shop will need to take approx .030 off the deck of the block to bring it to 0. Did they do that? Probably not huh. Or you'll need to use a shim head gasket. With that compression your current cam choice wll probably be ok but it won't make a lot of power.
Like I said too many shops don't have a clue how to figure a true compression ratio. Seems your guys may not know how to either.
