New (updated) Olds engine performance book
If you are looking for a GREAT book on Olds buildups, let me throw out a hearty endorsement for Bob Gerometta' Oldsmobile Engine Modification and Tuning Guide. Here's the PR flak on it:
Bob Gerometta's Oldsmobile Engine Modification and Tuning Guide
V8 Engines fm 1964 - 1978 incl. Small Block & Big Block
This 146 page spiral bound, soft cover 8.5"x11" manual provides everything the serious and amateur Olds engine modifier needs to make copious horsepower. From the simple engine ID pages to the intricacies of block and head modification, this book covers it. Nowhere else can you find everything you need to know to make your Olds a horsepower and torque monster.
The book includes a listing of bona fide vendor sources with a proven track record in Oldsmobile engines – this may be worth the price of the entire book.
This book is a complete revamp of Bob Gerometta's famous Olds Performance Manual of the 1980's – completely updated and enlarged. Bob was the President and Founder of the Oldsmobile Club of America's Oldsmobile Performance Chapter during its heyday in the 1980's. He has built many modified and stock W-Machines and at one time owned '69 and '70 W-31s and 30's "back in the day"; including a '70 completely stock automatic car that ran 13.50s on Polyglass street tires and through the mufflers (tuned, of course).
You may e-mail me at bob.gerometta@wildaboutcars.com for more information or go to my store on e-bay and buy it with PayPal Store: http://stores.ebay.com/Wild-About-Cars-and-Car-Stuff, or search under "Oldsmobile Engine Modification and Tuning Guide".
I can tell you it is all that and more! Best $20 I have spent in a looooooong time!

While we're advertising here I bought a pretty cool CD this week just because of the album cover, and It turned out to be a pretty great find.
The band is called Dougdejoe and the Bloomlaters and the album title is JESUS DRIVES AN OLDSMOBILE
I looked them up and they're in Nashville......hire them for a car show or something.

I wish there was a way to get ahold of that engine tuning guide without buying it from EVIL-bay. Does it have an ISBN number? Can you get it on-line from a book store or the publisher? Enquiring minds need to know!

X2. I wish I would have known about this book four years ago! Pretty much confirms what I have been able to learn since that time.

nj_cutlass72 - where did you find the book for purchase? This an older thread and none of the links work for me. Starting to build my 455 soon. If anyone knows where I can get a copy please pm me the info, I would really appreciate it!
