Talking CFF Car show at TX Motor Speedway - May 7 2011

Carl (Hamm36) found out about this and I plan to join him out there with Lady.
http://www.cffcarshow.com/index.html

Sat. May 7th, 3-7pm.
$15 registration at the gate, $25 to run some laps on the track behind a pace car, and $10 for a picture of you and your car in the winner's circle.
Sounds like fun and donating to a good cause at the same time.
If you ever wanted to run around the racetrack, here is your chance!

Hope we can have a local ClassicOlds meet there, too.
Let's show everyone some Oldsmobiles, so lets get 'em back together and running well!!

The AER Show is on the 5th, I don't know if I can make both. In '99 the NTOC was invited out to TMS, real cool to see about 45-50 Oldsmobiles driving around the track!

Everyone knows Fords and Chevies - let's treat them to something different (and classier, too!)

Great - can't wait to see it all completed!
I think you better park far away from mine so you don't make the lady look bad...

Anyone else from the Dallas FW area plan to attend?

Rob: I just got in from Bolivar Island, seeing my son, and the beach, for a week. Both the Silver Bullet and Big Red have serious brake problems, and will not be able to take them out, or would be there with bells on! Think they would let CCRider on the track? LOL! Have a great day, as Lance said, we were out there as a Club in '99, and it was a hoot!!!!! We got to stop in #3 turn (I think) and walk around for a bit.......talk about leaning, trying to stand up. Enjoy!

Aron, there are classes for all year cars and I am sure they would let you on the track, too! For 25 greens, they couldnt refuse!

But sounds like you got enough to work on now - gotta get them brakes fixed. Bet the beach was nice. I will be on the beach next week in Oregon - can't wait!

Here are some shots from the shor at Texas Motor Speedway!
Great shot of me above - post some more if you have 'em!

Here is "Oldsmobile Row" - all three of the Oldsmobiles in the entire show...

At least there were more than 2 like I hoped for...
That 84 H/O won a trophy!

Here is Carl's car out at the track...

And here is Lady...

Now for the FUN!!

All 5 minutes of it that is... Three laps went too darn fast.

Here we are lining up with Carl in front.

Here we go into the turn...

Onto the straightaway! Tops speed I observed was 93MPH and I had a lot more pedal left!!

More GFTL (go fast, turn left ) and later into the pits.

And the winner is..............

Actually, everyone who did laps were winners, as our costs went to the Speedway Children's Charities.

A fun event for a good cause - THANKS CARL for letting me know about this and inviting me!

And a video as well!

I had to compress the heck out of this to attach it here so it is pretty grainy. However, the feel can still be felt...
Enjoy!

Rob, you did some mighty fine driving with one hand. Man, that was some fun! Can't wait until the fall - next time I will get behind you.

Driving was okay, but made for some shakey video...
Are they doing this same thing in the fall? If so, I am game!

I am sure it was a bit windy at 93+ with the top down.
Those are some cool shots.
To bad we did not get a shot of the ladies face when I did a rolling burn-out saying, "Hay! you can't do that!" LOL
They told me there would be another one in the fall.

I bet that was fun and well worth it for the children it benefited. Great pics and the Lady sounded good in the video.

I thought about taking the credit here, but that nasty snarl was from Carl's car up ahead. Lady speaks with a mild rumble. Yes, she needs better muffs - VOE comes to mind...

Here a few non-Olds cars that were at the show...

I sure admire these old trucks - reminds me of my dads...

This rat rod was pretty authentic. It had an AM pocket radio hanging from the inside mirror and two real hornet's nests up on the roof!

I love these wire wheels!

Awesome restored maill truck. The wagon next to it was a multiple winner!
