STOLEN, STOLEN, STOLEN

Guys my storage unit was broken into this past weekend. I had 5 '69 442 Hurst wheels taken. On a scale of 1to 10 I would give these a strong 8. The tires that were mounted on the wheels are Road Hugger Radial GT, mounted white side out. 4 wheels had center caps the spare did not. Very little tire wear with spare still showing the coloring of a new tire. Never even washed. If anyone sees an ad for a set of these in the Houston, Sugarland, Richmond area please let me know. You can email me at gfaubs@yahoo.com
or leave me a message on this site.

Thank you

I would take a pic of what they look like and go to every scape buyer you can find and offer a reward. The pieces of **** probably have no idea what they were other than $$ per pound of aluminum.

Next time hire Joe Horn for a security guard. They won't be bothering anyone else.

I thought they would be rare. Considering what I was told this wheel was only offered on the '69 Hurst 442.

I've got to put a price on the ins. form. Would 750.00 be out of line for an estimated value to a car buff. Complete 5 piece set with center caps and probably 90% tire wear left on them.

No, thats not them. Go to www.texas442.com. click on wheels and look at the wheel marked 1969 Hurst 442 only. Silver and chrome. Let me know what you think.

OK are these really a different wheel or are they finished different for that car. If it is its own wheel I would think they would be worth a chunk just because they would be so hard to find.

FYI I had rooughly 10K in Civil War Muskets stolen several years ago that I later found out were sold for $600 bucks.

I would doubt very seriously the F*%*&*ing thieves know what they have, It's unfortunately just drug money to them.

Sorry

Jamesbo,

I see you've got a '69 Hurst too. What do you think the replacement value of these wheels would be. I know the thieves are not going to get what there worth. But I've got to a dollar amount on my ins. claim. What would you sell your wheels for?

Sorry for your loss. But I really couldn't sell mine. I remember seeing some for sale on e-bay on a very few occassions. I'm sorry I can't remeber what they went for. I also remember talking with a company in California Speciality Wheels Ltd. that could basically take a 14 " SS II wheel and make it into a 15" 69 H/O wheel. I am sure you know 14" bolt on center wheels are a whole lot easier to come by that even 15" bolt on center wheels much less the reall 69 H/O wheel. If I were you I would contact someone like Kurt kurtkarch@yahoo.com the 69 H/O advisor and ask him.

Good Luck

Google up 69 Hurst Olds and look at some of the web sites including the H/O Club. There are some really good guys who track prices much better than I. My experience has been Jeff, Kurt and everyone is more than willing to help in any way possible.

I got a reply from Kurt yesterday. He gave me a price close to what I thought. So I feel comfortable putting a number down on the form. Still don't know if the ins. co will cover them yet. They will cover everything else that was lost.

When I asked you what you would sell your wheels for, that was strictly hypothetically. I just wanted to see what you thought they worth. I appreciate your help in this matter.

I tried to buy a set recently. The condition was 7 and the seller was asking $400 per rim.

You're quite welcome. I hate it when this kind of things happens. It's bad enough to get ripped off, but when some jack a** steals something of value and doesn't know what he's got it's just such a waste.

Yeah, Kurts a very nice guy, I've never met him but they say he's got a 69 H/O tatoo. Kinda hard core ya know.

That's what they look like. I did settle but haven't seen anything via the mail.
Thanks for looking out. I'm still checking craigs list every day.

e-bay

The one on e-bay is still going up. What did Kurt say they were worth each? Idono, I might buy one for the heck of it and keep a spare.
