stupid question about underhood plate

my plate reads
ST70 34467L/N446614

what does the L/N denote
I know LAN mean Lansing, has anyone seen this L/N?

another stupid question, this plate does match VIN plate on dash correct??
this is just a body and style plate

It denotes that either you are misreading the LAN or the "A" was mis-stamped.

I assume the seventh character of your VIN is an "M", correct?

The "34467" matches the first five characters of your VIN. The "ST70" matches the model year "0" in the sixth place on your VIN. The "L/N" we discussed above. The other digits are the Fisher Body production sequence number for the body shell and have no relationship to the last six digits in the VIN, which are the assembly plant sequence number for the complete car.

Joe, thanks for the info. kinda of what I excepted but I wanted to hear it from some else so I knew I was going crazy....

No I didn't misread the "/" it is there plain as light. I had GM Corp do a check for me on the true W30 production numbers since I have heard so many different numbers. I sent them my VIN and a photo of the Plate. They never said any thing about the plate. They decoded it for me also but never made mention of the "/". I just noticed it his weekend when I was reading through a 4 inch thick pile of info they sent me. I had it for a year and just really got the time to sit down and really go through what they sent me.

So thanks again for your response.
