towing with Jetaway trans ?

Although I read the owners manual of my 1966 442 about towing - is it ok to tow the car or what are the caveats ?
I need to bring it to a repair shop today and that is about 40 mls away.
Thx, Alex.

I would think just drop the drive shaft and tow away. Andy

I know first hand unfortunately. 64 F-85 which I no longer own broke down back in college (distributer issue) and the tow truck driver said no issue towing with rear wheels down and front up and in neutral even though owners manual said tow riding on front wheels or disconnect driveshaft. Transmission was shot after that and I think the reason is the fluid runs to the back and the front bearing or pump gets no lube.

Why not just use a flatbed - I don't even see the old style tow trucks much anymore.
