Question 68 442 data tag question

Hi,
I was decoding the data plate for my 68 442 and had a question about the paint code. It says "R-R" which as far as I could tell is Red (not sure of the exact factory name for the color). When the car was new it was white on the hood, decklid and along the tops of the doors. (How I know that is because it's my dad's old car and I remember when he bought it off the used car lot in 1970.) So I wondered what this paint scheme is called/ coded. I have only seen pictures of one other 442 with a similiar paint job. (I think it was a "Smother's Brothers" race car?!?) Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

Ed

R-R is called Scarlet in '68. Red with a red top. The two tone you refer to is not factory.

Well, unfortunately, you did not see the car when it was new in 1968, so you do not know that it came like that from the factory. As noted, it did not. Someone added the white paint between 1968 and 1970.
