442 hood questions please

Hello everyone,
Im new to the site. I live up north in alaska. I just purchased a 1969 442 # matching vehicle. sold body, original paint and interior. unmolested but it does need a full restore. The tags on the plates indicate it hasnt been on the road since 1980. The hood has been damaged just forward of the hinge mounts due to un-lubricated hinges. I have almost 40 years as a collision repair tech. I know i could cosmetically repair the hood but im not sure if i could reinforce the hood frame enough to correct the problem and keep it from happening again. So ive been looking for a used hood. I have several questions that i think i have answered but need confirmation on.
1) 69 442 hood is a stand alone one year model specific hood. is this correct?
From what Ive seen and read the Cutlass hood looks like the rear grille opening are not removable.
2) 68 hood has different hinge mounting locations on the hood side?
3) 70 hood has a different lock assembly? striker pin was eliminated.
Thanks for your time.

I believe the 1969 442 and Cutlass S share the same hood.
1970 hood does have a different lock assembly. There are some people who have fitted a 70 OAI onto their 69's but I believe it required some extensive mods to the rad support. As far as the hood springs and hinge,

Ok, a quick check of the hoods shows the same hood (except the OAI used on the HO)

4400 is the 442, all the others listed in that box are Cutlass S (3500 series is L6 engine and 3600 series is V8)

There are only two hood stampings used in the 1969 model year, the "double hump" hood and the flat hood. The double hump was used on all Cutlass S convertibles, Sport Coupes, and Holiday Coupes and on all 442s. The asterisk and note 1 in the parts book listing is to tell you that the double hump hood was also used on F-85 models that got W-31 (despite what you may see on a certain green one that has been discussed here from time to time...). The flat hood was used on everything else. Also, the H/O used the same double hump hood. Demmer just hacked a square hole in the center and drilled several holes for the scoop fasteners. The underside of a stock 69 H/O hood is not pretty.

I'm surprised at ya Joe. You almost never mess up with a quote. You forgot to include the left [ on the front of the quote.

Actually the *1 is defined as the third NOTE under the 8.000 heading for PANEL, HOOD. It says it's for a fibreglass repair kit 1050185. I looked for that reference you mentioned and Nada. I don't know why those hoods would require a fiberglass repair kit. I can see it for the HO hood, but that's about it.

EDIT: Never mind, I see where the red line in my box goes through the information on the 3200 cars with OAI.
