Sweet. Are those Weld wheels? They look great.

Congrats. Just out of curiosity, which numbers "match" exactly? If you have the Protect-O-Plate, it will match the engine and trans unit numbers to the VIN. Prior to the 1968 model year, Olds did not stamp VIN derivatives on the block or trans so without the P-O-P, there is nothing to match. Good luck with the car.

Congrats on a very nice find!

Slight sidetrack: Adam, those look like the original spun aluminum Centerlines. There have been several repo's produced over the years though....

The oil fill tube is not correct for a 66 400 engine. Look to be sure it is an E block if originality is a concern.

Good eye... should be a push on cap not a twist cap oil filler tube...

Also, the carb or parts of the carb may have been changed... Note that the choke appears to be an electric type and the mechanical choke coil is missing on the intake...

thank you very much

I take all of the help I can get but I just finished and sold to a guy in Australia a 1968 SS/396 /375 HP/auto that I found in California . It had every piece of paper work ,window sticker ,build sheets (which everyone said was never made ,hidden in drivers door )original key in manila envelope hidden under rear carpet .It had a factory (listed on window sticker )pen stripe on side .
I even had a sheet of paper that the owner sat around with his friends drinking beer the night before he ordered it. Salesman's card on and on ...
The seats as all the critics said were wrong and were from a Buick ..There was a note on the window sticker that said a factory shortage made them use these instead of Chevy . ash trays in rear elbow rest were same
Team Chevelle which I am a member of went crazy and had a great time doing more research . I learned with restoring several units there was a lot of swapping to fill orders ..
Just when you think it is one way ,and no disrespect to everyone a fly lands in the pie.
