Yellow High Beams

Just installed yellow vintage high beams on my 72 and couldnt be happier. Nothing cooler than a yellow 442 with yellow lamps.

You know they're illegal, right? I think they may even be illegal in France now, where they used to be mandatory.

Fair enough - I just like to make sure people know - hate to have someone with an overzealous local constabulary find out the hard way.

I'm sure it varies slightly by state, but in general, the laws say something along the lines that headlights must be "white," and allow fog lights to be yellow.
Now, "white" is, of course, not defined, so there's sometimes wiggle room, but the laws generally say things like "white," or "substantially white."

In the end, it all depends on whether you run across a cop who doesn't like you.

I saw blue ones on a car at Goodguys but the owner was nowhere to be found so I couldn't ask him. I'm not worried about the legality part here in Mayberry.

I've thought about putting them on the 71 but while in CA I would probably be harrassed. You can find the amber ones or blue ones on ebay pretty reasonably. Just search for 5 3/4 lights
