I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the vent windows hit the sport mirrors from the factory on sport coupes? Is this correct because my vent windows have always hit my sport mirrors since I’ve had the car? I think my car may have only came with the drivers side chrome mirror and my uncle replaced the mirrors with sport when he redid it in the early 80’s.

 

I do believe that the factory offered the sport mirrors on post coupes despite the fact that they have interference with the vent windows. My ‘70 flattop wagon was purchased with the mirrors as evidenced by the receipt stapled to the dealer invoice. (See highlighted area of photo attached).

This was a problem that at least one of the magazine road tests of the Rallye 350 complained about. I vaguely recall a service note about relocated them on Sports Coupe cars.
