Some opinions
OK guys, I need some opinions. I have a 1970 442 that has a main seal leak. I am wondering if it's worth the trouble and expense to pull the motor to have them replaced. Other than causing a mess on the garage floor and coating the suspension with oil I have no other problems.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you don't mind the oil, just leave it.
If you've got to change it, then you'll do as much work with the motor in or out, but with it in, it'll all be on your back, and you'll be in a much worse mood afterward.

check closely
valve cover or intake leaks are more common and will run down and back
It can be done with the engine in the car, but, yeah, if it's a main seal, mightaswell pull motor, do freeze plugs, refresh paint, etc.
