My red inner fenders were horribly faded white. But I noticed they are red all the way through. So we took a razer blade and started to shave the white stuff off and the layer of white was about .020 thick. Once the inner fender was red we sanded it smooth with 800 sandpaper. Then hit them with a buffer with a wool pad on it. The wool would melt the surface a little in some spots but the razor would take the debri right off. The shine came back and they look OK, not like new but a whole lot better and a little on the pink side. I decided to use them because they look like original 40 year old parts.
