Questions on my 85' Cutlass 442
Hi everyone! I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with some info on my 442. I have a 1985 Cutlass 442 in excellent condition. Mileage is 43,000 and the vehicle is all original. It has won "best survivor" and other trophies over the years. I know that 3,000 of the 85' Cutlass 442 were built originally but I was wondering if anyone knows how many were built (factory installed) with t-tops??? Picture is attached. The car is now 25 years old and I was wondering if anyone could give me an appraisal on the approximate value?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Raquel
Welcome aboard!
What a great survivor - be sure to keep it that way, as they are only original once!
Paint still looks good and the interior very nice. That is a keeper for sure.
Be sure to check out oldsgmail.com also - it has LOTS of good info on the 80's G-body Cutlass and 442. I have been on that group for 12 years or so.

I answered your question on another site, but I'll post it here, too:
I don't think anyone can help you with an exact number, but I would guesstimate that maybe one quarter to one third of the 442s had T-tops.
Value, of course, depends on how badly someone wants YOUR car and how badly you want to sell it. But an '85 - '87 442 with 43k miles and the expected minor wear, but in excellent condition, typically sells for $7000 to $10,000. There's actually a surprising number of mint, even lower-mile cars out there which sell in the $12,000 range. But I've noticed the owners who hold out for more end up waiting for the right buyer -- sometimes years.
