Finally got a picture, I put the white letters to the inside, think I should flip them out? I have to get photoshop.

Keep them in looks good and I don't think there were raised white letter tires in 65. Love those wheels. Torque Thrust IIs????

Great look! I much prefer the blackwalls as you have them. RWL would still be "period correct" for the late '60s, but the lettering would not be correct, I'm sure. As much as I like Cragers, those look even better! I had the same look going back then!

Post Coupes rock! Guessing you have a Cutlass Sports Coupe, just less the side moulding? My (gold) '66 is presently like that! Or is that an F-85 Club Coupe?

Now you guys got me thinking, maybe I should put the tires on a spin balancer and cut a small groove in the sides and paint in some red paint, red lines would look cool.
This one is a sport coupe less the side moulding. I like the look with or without the trim but this car had all the holes welded up by the previous owner so no going back on this one. I really like 66s as well, I used to have one with the factory "ultra high compression" 330 and M21 4 speed. I should of kept that car, yours looks cool with the period slot mags.

Keep the letters in. Sorry if I offend anyone but I think RWL tires look like ****.

thanks, I like the way it looks, just think it needs something to break it up a little. I would like to put 64 wheel well trim on it but they are not easy to find.

Coker tire is now carrying a BFG radial redline tire, and they have 245/60r15's... Perfect muscle car tire.

about double the price of Radial T/As though...

I like redlines on the mid 60 olds... but i also like RWL tires on pretty much every muscle car... So unless you do the redline thing, my vote is for RWL out.

BTW, do you also post over on Team Chevelle? is this the 65 that has the firebird fuel injected LT1 and cool digital dashboard?

yep that is me, I have a few chevelles as well and have been over at TC since 1998. I like a lot of different GM cars, I have a few pontiacs as well. Currently building a 70 chevelle with an LT1 4L60E.

To me, it depends on if you want to keep it as original-looking as possible or not. If yes, then the original tires were redlines- but I doubt you'd want to drive it w/ the original 775-14s on it, 'though I seem to remember a Co. in England that does the repros for BIG $! Something like 235/60-15s would be my vote if Coker carries them.
OTHERWISE..... black out! To me, RWL just doesn't look "right" on the '65!
