I tried to get a quart of 62 Bittersweet to paint around the cowl and wheels and only an old Laquer number came up. I need a basecoat numer or PPG number.

Some paint distributors have the capability to computer scan paint on the car and then color match. Any way you can get one to do that, or take them a small chip?

 

That is plan B. The car has a 20 year old repaint that is a tad off. I'll try to find a spot that wasn't painted, like under the trunk lid, and bring it in.

I took mine to an auto body supply store. The guy came out with a hand held device and put it on the car and got a code. We went inside, he punched the number into the computer and went in the back, then came back with the areosal can.

I tested the paint on some cardboard and it was an exact match. Also if the code is 62 that should be enough.
