Using today's metric tire sizes, you should be looking for a tire with about 26.5" diameter and about 225 to 245 mm section width. (The tire diameter is not listed in the metric size marking, but you can find it in the charts provided by the manufacturer, or calculate it yourself.)
Your choices will be very limited for 14" wheels. Much better for 15" wheels, if you're willing to make the switch.

I have the original 14x7 SS1 wheels on my car and run P225/70-14 radials and they are as close as you'll probably find in a radial to my original Uniroyal Tiger Paw G70-14 RWL Bias ply.
It's odd, by 1971 pretty much EVERY manufacturer had gone to a 15x7 rim and 60 series tire on all their performance cars EXCEPT Oldsmobile who chose to stick with 14", 70 series tires (except for a few exceptions of course). They have always had better handling packages it's curious why they didn't go with a bigger wheel/tire across the board.

Wheels for 1971
Hi all,
interesting thread.
I'm not new to Olds but new to the forum. 1971 Cutlass 2dr hardtop coupe.
Wondering if the 14 x 7 is universal for all models in 1971? Considering a set of SSI or SSIIIs.
My car's a driver, not a show car. So wondering if getting an old set and sprucing them up might be better than a new set of repros. Thoughts?
Thanks.
